Driving Under the Influence (D.U.I.)
If you have been arrested for
drunk driving or driving under the
influence, DUI, you need a lawyer. There are many legal
defenses
that only a lawyer can evaluate. An arrest does not mean a
conviction. In 2004, Almost 70,000 DUI violations were
issued. However, according to the Florida DMV, there were
only
about 45,000 DUI convictions. That means 25,000 people were
NOT
convicted, or 35% of all arrests did not lead to conviction for
DUI. Hiring an attorney can make all the
difference. The
punishments for conviction are strict. As the chart below
shows,
even one DUI conviction carries severe punishments.
